“A Hidden Gem by the Sea, Pure Peace and Genuine Warmth I am writing this review while actually staying at Villa Markisa, and I can honestly say it is hard to find the right words. This place is pure magic. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and perfectly clean. Every corner shows love and attention to detail. The villa sits directly at the ocean, far away from any noise or crowds. The only sound you hear is the sea. It is rare to find a place that feels so peaceful and private. The team here is extraordinary. The two German speaking hosts run this place with warmth and precision, and the Balinese staff are simply wonderful. They are kind, attentive, and full of heart. It does not feel like staying in a hotel, it feels like visiting friends who happen to live in paradise. The garden is breathtaking, filled with palm trees, frangipani blossoms, small Balinese statues, and flowers in pink and red. There is also a beautiful natural pool, cleaned without harsh chlorine, which my travel tired skin appreciates more than I can say. It is deep enough to really swim, not just to cool off. Meals are served three times a day and are included in the price. Every dish is delicious and freshly prepared. You can also order fresh coconuts, cocktails, or book massages and excursions. The massages take place in an open pavilion by the sea, with only the sound of waves in the background. It is pure relaxation combined with real quality. For anyone who loves beaches, Tulamben’s shore is made of small pebbles rather than fine sand. It is beautiful and natural, but water shoes are a good idea. That is not a flaw of the place, just something worth knowing. I did not go diving through Villa Markisa because I completed my diving certificate elsewhere, but I met several guests who did their dives here and they all spoke with great enthusiasm about how professional and well organized everything was. Even the gardeners and cleaning staff radiate friendliness and care. Villa Markisa is one of those rare places where everything feels just right. Generous, peaceful, and filled with kindness. I am deeply grateful to have found it and recommend it with all my heart.”

“Great boutique dive resort between Amed and Tulamben. Comfortable accommodations, great food, superb dive center with great guides and boats. They had a camera room and took excellent care of all camera and diving gear. Virtually all dives are done by boat, a great help for older divers like myself. They even have one small guest room which is perfect for a solo traveller like me. But what makes this place really special is the service and hospitality. Diving services included carrying all gear, lifting gear out of the water to make getting in the boat easier, cleaning gear and offering any assistance needed. Dining and bar services included personalized service like a high-end restaurant. Room services included multiple cleaning per day, towels on demand and fast laundry service. I highly recommend this place.”

“Our stay at Villa Markisa was truly wonderful! The diving was excellent, and the dive masters and boat crew were very attentive to our group's varied interests and ability levels. The resort proprietors are doing their utmost to maintain international-level standards of service and quality despite the challenges of operating during the pandemic. Staff are careful to observe necessary health and safety protocols and were uniformly kind and helpful. We were sad to leave, but will definitely be back!”

“Seraya really is a gem and the best muck diving site in Bali - hands down. Our dive guide Budi was a talented spotter. We saw decorator crabs, porcelain crabs, harlequin shrimp, and even saw 3 dolphins during our surface interval - all in a day's diving. The Villa Markisa team is wonderfully friendly. Being avid divers and researchers themselves, they are the best people to go diving with. The dive center has their own speedboat, which means the dive sites around are easily accessible for guests - it was mentioned that there are over 30 dive sites to explore. If you are looking for a luxury dive resort, with stunning ocean front rooms and top notch service - this is the place!”
